Liver Biotechnology (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd. was established in 2016 by a team of high-level talents from Shenzhen. Located in Building A23, Life Science Industrial Park, Dapeng New Area, Shenzhen, it is a technology-intensive enterprise specializing in primary hepatocytes, organoids/organ-on-a-chip, and artificial organs. The company's technical team includes members such as a fellow of the American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering, a chief scientist of the National "973" Program, professors from "985" universities, high-level talents from Shenzhen, Ph.D.s, and masters. As of the end of 2024, the company had more than 20 full-time employees.

Liver Biotechnology has successively obtained qualifications such as National High-Tech Enterprise (2021), Biosafety Level 2 Laboratory (2021), ISO 9001 Quality Management System (2021-2026), GB/T 29490-2013 Intellectual Property Management Standard (2021-2026), and Class II Medical Device Business Filing Certificate. It has applied for more than 40 PCT and other patents, with four authorized invention patents, 14 utility models, and three software copyrights. The project "Breakthrough and Transformational Application of Primary Hepatocyte Bottleneck" has received funding from four government programs.

The company possesses over 1,500 square meters of facilities, including R&D laboratories, primary hepatocyte banks, and GMP production workshops, and is equipped with high-end detection equipment worth more than 20 million yuan. Liver Biotechnology has successfully overcome foreign "bottleneck" technologies in the standardization and large-scale isolation and cryopreservation of primary cells. It has developed a series of scientific research products, including primary cells, spheroids, and organ-on-a-chip, mainly serving top domestic research institutions and biopharmaceutical enterprises to provide "cutting-edge technology" for new drug research and development.

Currently, the company is focusing on the medical transformation of its earlier research achievements, targeting end-stage liver diseases and future precision medical technologies. It is developing new products such as allogeneic hepatocytes, regenerative hepatocytes, and artificial livers, aiming to provide possibilities for the clinical treatment of end-stage liver diseases and meet the significant clinical needs of Shenzhen and the entire country.
